Gathering Supplies July 16, 2023

Over the last two days, we have been gathering all the needed supplies to start the work. On the first day, we traveled to the border of Tanzania for a truck load of sand. It is amazing how the men will swim to the middle of the river, sink down to shovel sand into a barrel, then hoist it to the riverside for transporting. The boys let me pretend I had anything to do with the ton of riverbed sand that ended up in the back of our dumpster truck.

Over the next couple of days, we bought the stones, concrete, timber, and all the hardware needed. Each location sells a different piece, and they all have different regulations and hoops to jump through. Thank God for Brandy.  Brandy is the oldest son, and he is leading this project. We have been working together for months to till the ground, so to speak. However, I had no idea just how much leg work he had put in.

See, NOTHING in Kenya happens fast. So, to start work after only two days of arriving is nothing short of a miracle. It is also a strong testament to his leadership and wisdom. He has been researching prices and traveling to businesses to gather as much current info as possible. He is astute and working with extreme diligence to make the most of what this opportunity is giving him. I could not have picked a better partner to see this project through.
