Touch Down June 7, 2022
The view from my apartment.
I finally made it. I slept forever. But now I am alive. I have a nice apartment that I’m staying in. It’s got everything that I could need, a small fridge, water purifier, and an AC in the bedroom. Plus, it has these beautiful views of a bay below.
My plan is to unpack my loads of supplies, go grocery shopping, and procure a phone. I will also be reaching out to my Swahili teacher, Alice, and seeing if we can set up more in person sessions. I have so much that I want to do, but such a short amount of time to get it all done.
While I’m still pretty exhausted, I am finally starting to feel excited again. All of the smells, the sights, and the noises bring back this peace of familiarity of this beautiful place. I’ve only been here a day, but already, I am wishing I could stay longer.
