Thank You! May 29, 2022
We have all the gift bag and training materials!!! About a month ago, I reached out to my community and asked for help. Now, tears come to my eyes as I pack my suitcase with so many gifts. People have bought everything on my entire Wishlist that I had for the trip to East Africa! And then some!!!
I feel overwhelmingly thankful. There were so many of you who did not put a gift receipt inside of the delivery, so I have no way of knowing who contributed what items. But please know, I am so thankful. Thank you for sowing seeds into me and into this work. Thank you for prayers, donations, and support. Thank you.
There are a few goals that I wrote into my business plan that I see fleshing out due to your support.
One crucial goal was to strive for absolute excellence in every aspect of these trainings. Because this is offered as a free service, some might say that anything I bring to the table is better than nothing. However, I know it is crucial that I maintain a high level of excellence because I am a direct representation of Christianity. I also want trainees to feel as valued and respected as they truly are. The gift bags and stuffers add value. Items like the projector, screen, and printer allow every business to have the same quality of service no matter what resources they have available. This is a special thing for locations that don’t have basic meeting spaces or electricity.
The second goal is one that I am starting to second guess. I determined that the only way that I can stay completely reliant on God through every aspect of this work was to make sure I wasn’t able to complete it on my own. I wrote that I should always set my goals and expectations right beyond my abilities. This is a terrifying prospect. It also looked a lot better on paper than in practice. However, as I am one week out, and putting the last pieces together, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that God is paving the way. Though my flesh loathes lack of control, my spirit craves complete dependence on Him.
I am so thankful and so excited as the day draws nearer. However, I must at least mention that there is one thing that could use some specific prayer. About one week ago, I called to double check bag restrictions, and on this call, I found out that the first leg of my flight was canceled. I thought that we worked it out where I would add a 13 hour layover to the trip. This was not preferable, but it was the only option. Now, I am back and forth on the phone and email because they still haven’t secured this flight. I’m praying that all the pieces fall into place and that solutions present themselves. So, If you don’t hear from me for a couple of weeks, don’t worry. I’m just hitchhiking to New York to catch my connecting flight. ;)
Looking at the calendar, it looks like I am 6 days out! Less than a week! Thank you so much for being a part of something that is bigger than any of us.
